Originally from Timmins, Karen has lived throughout Ontario. She and her family made the permanent move to Bracebridge in 1994 where she quickly became active in the community. Karen spent 28 years in the financial services industry progressing from Teller to Regional Manager, responsible for Customer Satisfaction. Helping clients select the best financing for their homes or businesses was Karen’s specialty.
Karen then spent 6 years as an international student recruiter for Rosseau Lake College. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Karen honed her skills to enable her to co-lead the school’s Wilderness Survival Outtrip.
In 2006, with her wealth of knowledge and experience, Karen embarked on a career in Real Estate benefiting from the rigorous education now required for new Realtors.
Karen believes in conducting business with PRIDE.
Honesty, fairness, respect, and a Win/Win attitude are keys to her success.
In retirement, many people donate their time to charities. After retiring, Karen chose to pursue a career in Real Estate so that she could make a difference financially. As a result, a portion of Karen's commission from all transactions will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, a charity also supported by her Brokerage. Karen's contributions to date $85,000 - 106% of her goal to fund the cash portion of a Habitat for Humanity build in Muskoka! Karen is also a strong supporter of Hospice Muskoka, Interval House, and Bracebridge Out of the Cold.
Whether she is exercising at sun-up, tutoring Math, practicing her golf swing, skiing, or snowshoeing, Karen’s boundless energy and enthusiasm are always evident.
In her free time, this outgoing grandmother loves travelling, enjoying her grandchildren, gardening, biking, sewing, reading, and advocating for mental health awareness.
